Will a slab hold a hot tub, RV, boat, or backup-power unit?

Yes. Each of those drops a heavy, concentrated weight, so we deepen the section, build the reinforcement up, and bring rebar in wherever the load genuinely earns it. A hot tub or an equipment pad also wants a level base that will not shift, which puts the rock work and drainage on a par with the steel. Name what is going on it and we shape the pad around that.

Do I need a vapor barrier under the slab?

On enclosed or covered slabs, generally yes, since a shallow water table and damp Gables ground push moisture up through the concrete. We make that call from how the slab will be used.

Does a concrete slab require a permit?
